Rugby World Cup 2015, Cardiff Castle, Wales

A giant rugby ball crashed into the wall of Cardiff Castle.

The giant rugby ball that crashed into the wall of Cardiff Castle to coincide with the start of the 2015 Rugby World Cup needed a supporting skeleton, and QuadConsult was commissioned by Wild Creations to design it. The amazing effect was an instant hit with the people passing on the street, the media across the UK, and much further afield. The design and detailing necessary had to ensure the ‘ball’ was sufficiently robust, as well as maintaining the integrity of the Grade 1 listed wall of Cardiff Castle.
