Flood Consequences Assessment & SuDS

We undertake Flood Consequences Assessments, usually in support of a planning application, and are fully equipped to give advice on all aspects and impacts of SuDS legislation or the SAB process.

Flood Consequences Assessment

QuadConsult undertakes Flood Consequences Assessments to meet the requirements of TAN15 ‘Development & Flood Risk’ in Wales, and Policy Planning Guidance (PPG) ‘Flood Risk & Coastal Change’ under the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in England, usually in support of a planning application.  We have established good links with the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales and will meet with them to discuss site specific requirements in advance of a formal planning submission.

Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems

We are fully equipped to give advice on all aspects and impacts of SuDS legislation or the SAB process.

Proposed developments in Wales of more than one dwelling, or where the construction area is more than 100m², must implement Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and be approved by the local SuDS Approval Body (SAB). The standards promote the use of above ground SuDS features, which may have a major influence on drainage strategies and development masterplans.  SuDS design standards are expected as part of the pre-application stage of the planning process (under Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010), and the proposed drainage strategy for a project must be compliant with the six standards (S1 – S6) as set out by Welsh Government SuDS guidance.
