Sustainable Development
Renewable Energy is an important sector for us as we fully believe in its importance for all of our futures. As a matter of course QuadConsult considers the sustainability of projects through design and is committed to minimising environmental impacts on projects. We have been awarded ISO14001 accreditation for Environmental Management, and are a member of AECB (The Association for Environment Conscious Building).
Director Chris Usher has served on the Institution of Structural Engineers’ Sustainable Construction Panel.
Many of our projects have been completed to BREEAM or CEEQUAL standard, such as the facility to convert Cardiff’s domestic organic waste into biogas for energy generation. We were the Project Civil & Structural Engineers for the scheme, which was national award winner in its category in the Constructing Excellence awards. Our engineers have worked on Parc Hadau, a low-cost carbon positive residential development in the Swansea Valley, from its inception, and provided the Civil engineering design for one of the first hydrogen car filling stations in the UK, sited in Abergavenny. Over one hundred wind farm commissions have been awarded throughout the UK and in other places as diverse as Turkey, North Macedonia and Northern Norway, and we provide services for roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar farm installations.
