CDM Support and Principal Designer
QuadConsult has had considerable experience of CDM Regulations since their introduction in 1994, having had many commissions to work as Principal Designer. We provide CDM advisory services to support clients to discharge their obligations under the Regulations. In addition, we offer training on the 2015 CDM Regulations, past clients including Natural Resources Wales, Vattenfall and Pure Energy Professionals.
Staff who lead in this role are professionally qualified and have been mentored through training by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Our engineers review all projects with the client and key designers to assess the geometry and use of building to successfully establish the ideal structural form.
Undertaking all design and detailing our engineers and technicians use the most up-to-date 3D, BIM compliant software. We regularly undertake projects with carbon zero aspirations, and understand the need for sound sustainable design to achieve accreditations such as BREEAM, WELL, LEED and FITWEL.
By working closely with clients on a diverse range of historically interesting heritage projects, our engineers have acquired considerable experience in traditional construction techniques and sensitive methods of repair for older timber, masonry and iron buildings.
Our commissions for the public sector include many highway commissions including Section 184 and 278 agreements, generally on behalf of housing developers although other clients have commissioned us on wide-ranging projects.
Many strengthening and refurbishment commissions have taken place throughout Wales and England for NHS Trusts, and our engineers have designed several schools, particularly the superstructure for our steel fabricator clients.

We work closely with our clients to fully understand the operational needs of complex industrial sites, ensuring our designs minimise disruption and shut down.
Our work within the UK, Europe and the Middle East has serviced clients within the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural and domestic food production industries. We fully appreciate the harsh environments in which many industrial complexes are sited. Therefore, our designs are always considered practical, commercial, safe and fit for purpose with minimal maintenance.
