A structurally complex external timber balcony attached to the restaurant at this popular forest visitors’ centre, near Dolgellau, North Wales, exhibited early stages of timber decay. Insufficient time was available to design and procure repairs before the busy summer holiday period so QuadConsult was instructed to devise a short-term strengthening solution, before a permanent solution, also designed by QuadConsult, could be installed during the following winter.
