A QuadConsult Director and a civil/structural team were based overseas for thirteen months achieving all the design targets and supervising soils investigations and topographic surveys on site in Iraq.

The project consists of three sites each separated by some 15km where facilities are being constructed to regenerate the area’s natural resources. Minimisation of construction time was the key to a successful outcome coupled with the need to design and issue foundation information in advance of details of the equipment being available.

Deep excavations requiring extensive de-watering and temporary works were involved in order to achieve significant schedule benefits to the procurement process.

A structural engineer from QuadConsult continued with the project based in Dubai thereby gaining valuable experience and assisting with the progress towards the achievement of chartered engineer status.
