Design of framing to support aesthetic interior finishes to prestigious shopping centre.
Contracted by long-term clients Metclad Contracts Ltd, QuadConsult designed bespoke cold-formed framing and fixings to support the aesthetic finishes to this shopping centre interior in Oxford. For its interior walls Westgate Block 3 needed timber hook panels to support architectural vertical fins. In addition, horizontal hangers near the top of the structure support architectural horizontal fins.
QuadConsult also conducted a detailed wind analysis of the structure which included wind funnelling effects, and designed the external cladding framing for the walls and the multi-bay pitched roof with solar panelling incorporated in the structure.
