QuadConsult contributed a landscaping and drainage scheme to David Wilson Homes and Taylor Wimpey’s King’s Wood Gate development in Monmouthshire. Surrounded by scenic countryside, the scheme proposed incorporating grasses and planting to provide enhanced lowland wetland habitat, ensuring both function and biodiversity. The sustainable drainage solution adopted and installed respected the local character and drainage methods, with a large lagoon being fed by a network of site wide swales. The lagoon was seeded with grasses designed to enhance the area over time, while providing a large storage volume with the purpose of assisting in the mitigation of local flooding risks downstream.
