Civil design of a wind turbine with associated infrastructure, with the Civil infrastructure for an electrolyser at Arbikie distillery

QuadConsult was pleased to have been commissioned for the Civil design of a wind turbine with associated infrastructure, together with the Civil infrastructure for an electrolyser at Arbikie distillery and farm near Arbroath in the north east of Scotland.
Arbikie is unique in that it is the worlds first carbon positive distillery which has recently released its first whiskey after successfully producing gins and vodkas. The wind turbine, supplemented by solar energy, supplies all the energy needs for the distillery, plus the energy required for other uses associated with farming, including growing the grain for the distillery. Renewable electric energy is directly used by the farm and distillery with the support of batteries, and is also used in an electrolyser to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is used as the sites gas supply including to create steam necessary for the distillation processes.
QuadConsult is proud to be associated with this unique world first project which has recently released its first whiskey.
