Chris is a chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with over thirty years in practice since graduating from the University of Wales, Swansea. Chris has been involved since the inception of QuadConsult and has joint responsibility for all civil, structural, and CDM commissions, in addition to business development and management functions.
After beginning his career with the BBC’s Mast and Towers division Chris moved to a structural steelwork fabricator as Design Manager. He then moved into consultancy and worked as a chartered Structural Engineer for MRM Partnership (now part of WSP USA) and Clarke Bond Partnership before becoming a Director in a small Cardiff-based practice. When he joined PMSS, a consultancy specialising in renewable energy, as the company’s Director of Civil & Structural Engineering it was to further his long-standing interest in sustainable construction.
Chris is a past Chair of the Wales Branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers where he used ‘Sustainability in Structural Engineering’ as his theme. He sat on the Institution’s Sustainability Panel providing guidance to the profession. Until recently he was an external examiner for the University of Glamorgan (now part of the University of South Wales), and he is currently a Civil Engineering Advisory Board Member for the Universities of Swansea and South Wales.
