Involvement in the first commercial biomass power station in Wales.
This project was the first commercial biomass power station in Wales. It is wood-fired, with a generating capacity of 12MW. QuadConsult staff were involved in aspects of the civil engineering design which was complicated by the shallow water table and the proximity of a SSSI on the southern boundary. They also acted as design co-ordinator for the small power M & E consultancy on behalf of the contractor
The construction manager was BWSC from Denmark, and the project was constructed for Eco2. QuadConsult Limited has a continuing involvement with the project and provides ad hoc civil and structural engineering support.
