An opera staged by English National Opera which had its world premiere at the Barbican in London between 11 and 25 April 2015. It tells the story of five people trapped in the World Trade Centre as the building burns and collapses around them. The designers required an extremely thin bridge to span across the stage, supported by wires suspended from the roof. The bridge had a Perspex floor and steel beams, and was required to support performers during the opera. The bridge was constructed by Bay Productions, situated in Cardiff, and designed by engineers from QuadConsult Limited. As with many of these stage sets, the bridge was required to be able to be broken down into smaller components for transport, construction and storage.
